Leigh Prugh focuses her practice in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense, probate matters, and appellate advocacy. Her litigation experience spans all levels, including an extensive motion practice, taking and defending depositions, settlement negotiations, and trials before the bench. In addition, she has authored multiple briefs in appellate courts including the Ohio Supreme Court. Leigh has handled all levels of misdemeanor offenses, including OVIs and other license citations, in numerous municipal courts, and practices in a variety of probate courts in handling estate and guardianship administrations.
Leigh’s wide legal experience has underscored the importance of maintaining client communication at each stage of a legal matter. As a result, Leigh makes it her priority to keep her clients informed and to assure they understand all aspects of their cases. This attention to communication makes her a very effective communicator in court as well.
The area of mental health is an area of particular passion for Leigh. Previously she served as an Assistant Prosecutor for the Portage County Mental Health and Recovery Board for committee hearings. Currently, Leigh serves as retained and appointed counsel for individuals that have been civilly committed, ensuring that their due process rights are protected. This is, by far, the most challenging aspect of Leigh’s practice.
