Matthew and his wife, Kim, are the proud parents of four young children. Matthew enjoys spending time with his family, attending their many sporting events, traveling, and spending as much time as possible outdoors.

Matthew is general counsel to several non-profits and churches of various denominations, ranging in size from a few hundred to several thousand. He works closely with them to help them understand their constitutional and legal rights and obligations. This is a challenging time for churches, as they navigate ever-changing laws and societal norms. Matthew strives to inform and counsel church leaders so they may confidently advance their ministries.
Commercial Litigation and Appeals
Matthew has represented individuals and companies, including Newell Rubbermaid, Schaeffer Manufacturing, and Travelers Insurance in state and federal litigation. As a former judicial attorney to Ohio’s Chief Justice and to the longest tenured judge at Ohio’s largest intermediate appellate court, Matthew knows how to advocate for his clients in ways that speak to courts.
