What's in an Estate Plan?

Will: Public distribution of assets through Probate Court.

Basic Trust: Private distribution of assets without Probate Court.

Advanced Trusts: Same as a basic trust, with additional terms such as for asset protection.

Advance Directives: Healthcare and end-of-life decisions, comprised of a Healthcare Power of Attorney and/or a Living Will

Financial Power of Attorney: Sometimes called a “Durable” power of attorney.

Transfer on Death Designation Affidavit: Transfer of real estate to a person or trust after owner passes, to avoid probate.
